Why is it so much easier to spot blind spots in others than in ourselves? This question sparked my journey to create Better Think Twice: Why Recognizing Your Blind Spots Will Get the Best out of You and Others.

We are not as rational as we like to believe. Each of us is shaped by unconscious biases that quietly influence our decisions and perceptions. As a coach, I’ve seen how these biases play out in workplace settings—limiting collaboration, hindering decision-making, and fuelling modern phenomena like “quiet quitting.” These insights not only helped my clients regain clarity but also revealed how addressing biases can foster environments that support creativity and inclusivity. Many of my clients feel stuck, trapped by roles or team dynamics that aren’t working. I’ve found that helping them uncover their biases and explore new perspectives can transform not only their individual performance and self-confidence but also how teams can work better together.
Of course, I am not immune to biases myself. The more I explored, the more I realized how they shaped my thinking, too. What began as a small project to highlight 10 biases in LinkedIn posts grew into a year-long passion to uncover the hidden mechanisms driving our thoughts and behaviors. I quickly found myself on the “Peak of Mount Stupid,” as described by the Dunning-Kruger Effect, realizing just how much I had yet to learn. That humbling moment led me to deepen my study, culminating in this book: 144 biases illustrated with humor, insight, and lessons from my experiences in the corporate world.

Why This Book?
Traditional unconscious bias training often falls short—it’s forgettable, awkward, or overly theoretical. Better Think Twice aims to be something different: an engaging and practical reference guide. Inspired by the humor effect, I’ve used wit and visuals to help readers not only understand biases but also remember them.

The book draws on my corporate past (shout-out to former colleagues who might share a knowing laugh), my coaching practice, and the challenges I’ve observed across four generations in the workplace. Whether it’s generational biases dividing teams or confirmation biases amplified by social media echo chambers, the book addresses real challenges we face daily.
